Fife Baking Club - 24th January Festive Bakes

The next date for the Fife Baking Club has been booked for Thursday 24th January 6-8pm.
As we like Reuben's Wine Store in Dunfermline so much, we are going to keep this as our regular venue.

To bring a bit of cheer to a dull and dreary January we are going with a festive theme.

If you would like to join me for cake, coffee and chat please email your name and bake to FifeBakingClub@gmail.com.

Spooktacular Surprises - 1st November

To tie in with Halloween, the theme for the next Fife Baking Club meeting will be Spooktacular Surprises. I'm hoping that there will be a great turn out of terrifying treats, pumpkin pie, toffee apple etc.

The meeting will take place on Thursday 1st November 6-8pm. As Richard looked after us so well in August, the venue will be Reuben's Wine Store in Dunfermline again.

There was a great selection of bakes last month and I am sure this will be no different. It doesn't matter if it is savoury or sweet and you don't need to be an expert baker. It is all about having fun.

Due to the size of Reuben's, the number of attendees is restricted to 20.

If you would like to join me for cake, coffee and chat please email your name and bake to FifeBakingClub@gmail.com by Friday 19th October.

Favourite Bakes in Fife - 23rd August

It was the first gathering of the Fife Baking Club and I have to admit that I was rather nervous. Even though names and bakes had been put forward I still was panicking that I would be sitting alone with my cake.

I needn't have worried though as twelve fellow Fifers made their way to Reuben's Deli in Dunfermline.

The meeting was held in the back section of Reuben's Wine Store where Richard made us all very welcome. The Wine Store only opened up at the end of 2011 and the room is a great location for meetings and get togethers.

As this was our first meeting rather than go with a theme I decided to ease everyone in gently and suggested bringing along favourite bakes. There was a wide range of cakes, muffins and even a sun dried tomato bread which was perfect break to the sugar rush that we were all experiencing.

Two hours of eating and chatting went very quickly and before we knew it, it was time to pack up our Tupperware boxes with goodies and to head home. A great night was had by all and I am looking forward to the next meeting in October. Now to find a celebrity to make a guest appearance. Wondering if Colin Firth is available...
